Veteran Affairs Overview

The Veterans Affairs Office is located in the basement of the Shelby County Courthouse.

We provide a wide range of services to the veteran and their families. Those services range from pension and compensation to health care, education and requesting service records.

Figures released by the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs for the fiscal year 2010, Shelby County had a veteran population of 1,145. These figures placed Shelby County in the top half of Iowa's 99 counties. Total expenditures brought in to the county is $4,500,000.
